ELLE and SMC launch initiative to find the next generation of creative talent
July 21, 2020 | Alexandra Sufit
ELLE UK today launched a joint initiative with the Social Mobility Commission to find the next generation of creative talent in the UK.
“Everyone deserves a door to be opened for them” said our Commissioner and Editor-in-Chief of Elle UK, Farrah Storr, talking about the initiative which has given students aged 16 to 19 unparalleled access to the creation of the landmark September issue, featuring cover star Adwoa Aboah.
Each student worked alongside an ELLE mentor to get an understanding of the process, whilst contributing ideas on everything from the creative direction of shoots to the drafting of headlines.
“Over the coming months, you will see further opportunities across ELLE UK, as well as a firm commitment from our publishing company about how we better support, promote and open the door to marginalised groups and voices across the country.” Farrah added.
